Decisions...

The selfish thing? The right thing?

Either way you have to be willing to live with the consequences.

I've been told I did the right thing. Maybe if I keep hearing that enough I will eventually believe it.

And I'm living with the consequence.

I particularly like when the right thing and the selfish thing happen to coincide. Rare.

I know the moment has evidently passed, and you did some thing. Just go with what you think is right, watch it play out, and remember that sometimes the right thing evolves over time and you may have to switch course. Switching later on (if apparently necessary) is not a sign of ignorance or of weakness. It is a sign of intelligence and reason. You have both.

(((Kevin))) Doing the right thing is easy when the consequences are nice/fun. I admire someone who does the right thing when it is difficult as hell, as it sounds like this was.

My grandpop [born in Ypsilani; UM '31] would tell me, "There's three ways to do anything: the quick way, the easy way, and the right way."
